Nandini Banerjee, disciple of the stalwart Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, started learning music from the tender age of 4 years. Initially she took lessons in Bengali musical forms such as Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti etc. from her father Shri Swapan Kumar Banerjee. At the age of 11, she started learning Classical Music in school and won numerous awards and certificates of merit at the National and State Level. Along with her graduation in English literature (Hons.) from Delhi University, she also did 'Sangeet Vishaarad' in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in Delhi, under the tutelage and guidance of her guru, Shri Sarada Prasanna Acharya. She did her post graduation in Hindustani Classical Music from the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, Delhi University and was awarded the prestigious ‘Lala Jugal Kishore Jagdish Prasad Memorial Award’ by the University for standing first in M.A. She has also acquired the degree of M. Phil in Classical Music from Delhi University. Blessed with a very soulful voice, Nandini started giving live performances on stage from a very young age in Classical, Semi-classical and Light Music at various platforms. She also had the prestigious opportunity of performing in Rashtrapati Bhawan in the year 2003. With all these achievements to her credit at such a young age, Nandini is sure to leave her mark on the musical scene.
