The legendary musician with a spell binding magic in his hands, Ustad Bhure Khan Saheb is one of the greatest maestros of Harmonium. He is a veteran in Indian Music Industry and has a rich repertoire to his credit. He belongs to the Patiala Gharana and has developed a unique technique of playing the instrument in the style of Gayaki Ang like meend, gamak, khatka, kan, murki, etc. Another hallmark of his creativity is the style of Tantra Kari in this intrument with different laya karis and strokes. Born and brought up in Aligarh, Ustad Bhure Khan is the son and disciple of Ustad Abid Hussain Khan of Agra Gharana. Initiated into the art of harmonium playing at a very tender age, his father trained him into the profound intricacies of the instrument and honed his skills. His real name is Zahid Hussain Khan. Ustad Bhure Khan received his tutelage of composing and arranging music from Ustad Nazar Hussain Khan, a renowned music director from Pakistan. This versatile training added a new glorious chapter in the life of this great musician. Ustad Bhure Khan Saheb has given numerous memorable performances around the world. Most interestingly, he can play Harmonium in multi-scales. This is one of the rarest things possible with this instrument and Ustad Saheb ably performs it with stability and efficiency.
