Ram Naam Nahin Hriday Dhara |
Jo Chamar To Bhi Main Ram Tumh |
Jo Chamar To Bhi Main Ram Tumh |
Dehu Kalali Ek Pyala |
Aaj Diwas Lehu Balihara |
Kangana Kangana Hari Me Samana |
Jab Man Changa To Kathauti Me |
Maa Main Kaise Aaun Mo Se Chal |
Ab Kaise Chhute Naam Rat Laagi |
Narhari Chanchal Hai Mati Mori |
Jal Ki Bhit Pawan Ka Thamba |
Hai Sab Atam Swayam Prakas San |
Born in the village of Mandur near Varanasi, sage Ravidas imbibed the spirit of devotion to God from his parents as well as the holy precincts of Varanasi. The subtle influences he absorbed in this atmosphere constituted his education. When he was 18, he became devoted to Lord Rama. Initially, Ravidas could not keep his attention on his profession of shoe-making. Whatever he earned he would spend in the service of ascetics and those whose life was consecrated to God. For Ravidas, one's work was the path to realise God. "Honest work is my religion. It will always enable me to cross the ocean of the world" - he used to sing. Some events from his life has been choreographed as a dance theatre presentation. This is based on Kathak style.
