Geeli Mitti is the second offering from Trina anchored around the theme of Mitti (the debut album) that stands for our roots, our homes and the people we love. It is an inspiring collection of songs which reflect the urge of getting home to the smell of rain-soaked fields. It opens with the rustic rendition of ‘Barsan Laagi’ a thumri-nama geet composed around Misra Piloo, followed by a mesmerising Meera bhajan ‘Chala Mahi Des’ creating an ambiance of nostalgia. Then comes the traditional bhajan based on Misra Piloo called ‘Nana Dhang Mein’ which draws our attention to the ephemeral reality of this corporeal existence. Calling out to the beloved is the melodious composition in Khambaaj ‘Piya Ke Awana’ with the perfect complementary composition ‘Saawan’ another beautiful bhajan of Meerabai. Winding up the album is a poignant composition ‘Rupey Tomay Bholabo Na’ by Rabindranath Tagore rendered beautifully by Trina.
