Kathakali can be described as the 'theatre of imagination'. Historically Kathakali is the end product of a long line of theatrical practices. Kathakali explores themes from the two great Indian epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, through a unique blend of percussion, music, costume, colour, movement and text.
